Submit an Idea

Interested in submitting an idea to BirthdayWire? We’re always looking for real birthdays, photo shoots, articles, or DIY projects from amateur or professional party planners, photographers, or other vendors to inspire our readers.

If you would like to submit photos from a single real birthday or photo shoot, please select “slideshow” in the fields below. If you’d like to submit an article, how-to, recipe, or DIY project, please select “article.”







Make sure you include a cover photo for your article. You may include additional photos in the body of your article. The cover photo should be at least 800 pixels wide and less than 1 MB. Only .jpeg, .jpg, or .gif files will be accepted. Please also include photo credit information within article text.

Articles should be no more than 500 words.

Please make sure your text is clear and easy-to-read, without any over-the-top formatting or capitalization. Do not change the font, size, or color of text.

Some examples of good article topics:

- Step-by-step DIY projects
- Tips or advice for those planning a birthday – theme/favor/game ideas, how-to’s, etc.
- Music playlist ideas for different types of birthday themes
- Recipes or menu ideas for birthday


Attach 10 to 30 photos of the event. Photos should be at least 800 pixels wide and less than 1 MB. Only .jpeg, .jpg, or .gif files will be accepted. We would like a variety of shots, focusing mainly on the unique details of the event (i.e. centerpieces, cake, favors, food, etc.). Photos that only feature people will not be selected.-

Please be sure you have permission from the photographer (whether amateur or professional) before submitting the images, and be sure to credit him/her in the “photographer” field.

We’d prefer images that are not watermarked (don’t worry, the photographer will be credited and linked either way), but we understand that photographers want to preserve their copyright. If a watermark is used, please make sure it’s as unobtrusive as possible. We want to showcase your work in the best light!

Please credit all of the vendors who participated in the event. State their role (“cake baker,” “florist,” etc.), business name, and website so that we may properly credit them.

If you are submitting the event and are also a vendor who participated, make sure your name is included in both the top section of this form and the vendor list.
